For Evelyn, serving as president of Davies Office is more than a career; it’s a labor of love. Evelyn is largely responsible for creating the family business’s culture and strategy, and she manages Davies’ finances and day-to-day operations. She’s proud to call the Capital Region home and equally proud of the positive contributions her family’s company has made to the local community. When she’s not balancing our books, Evelyn is balancing her favorite pastimes, which include traveling, swimming and playing with her beloved granddaughter. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Albany.
A nationally recognized leader in green remanufacturing and an expert in sustainable office furniture solutions, Bill has not only made Davies a pioneer and leader in its field, but he also expanded opportunities for organizations industry wide. Under Bill’s direction, Davies has grown to be the nation’s largest office furniture remanufacturer and was the first remanufacturer to earn level® sustainability certification from the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA).
Bill was instrumental in creating standards that allow remanufactured furniture to contribute points to the LEED certification process, and he is often called upon to speak at industry events, write for industry publications and represent the industry before the U.S. Trade Commission. Bill is also Board Chairman for The Remanufacturer’s Industry Council, a legacy member of the U.S. Green Building Council and a BIFMA member. When he can spare an hour or two, Bill enjoys fly fishing. He earned a marketing degree from Siena College.
It’s not that Derrick came with the building, but Davies has been lucky enough to work with him for more than 30 years. In that time, he’s learned the industry inside and out, and he’s had a hand in all aspects of the company, from product development and design to sourcing and manufacturing. A seasoned product specialist, Derrick is responsible for promoting our sustainable solutions. He is also a critical component of our “Good Citizens of the Earth” accounts – clients such as Bank of America, Colgate-Palmolive and General Electric, who recycle and re-purpose furniture assets instead of buying and discarding. Derrick is known for setting and achieving high standards, and that applies to his “down time,” as well. An avid hiker, Derrick has set his sights on the Adirondack High Peaks, and he’s also an avid cyclist.
Patrick Doody, Davies national accounts manager, is responsible for marketing and business development for new and existing clients. Patrick also oversees Davies’ national accounts. He is a pro at building and maintaining long-term client relationships, and there’s nothing Patrick likes more than a challenge. Clients would tell you that Patrick is always available and provides immediate and consistent results. When he’s not running circles around our competitors, you’ll find Patrick running marathons and brewing craft beers. (Just not at the same time.) Patrick is a graduate of Canisius College.
Doug’s sales strategies and environmental knowledge combine to create win-win outcomes for his clients – sustainable solutions that also save money. Over the course of his 20+ years in the contract furniture industry, Doug has achieved a number of accomplishments. He is U.S. Green Building Association LEED-AP ID+C accredited for environmentally responsible interior design and construction of commercial spaces, he has won the prestigious Interface Everest Award for promoting sustainability, and he is a Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIMFA) faculty member for the new ANSI BIFMA e3 level® sustainability standard. In his spare time, Doug enjoys time with his family, restoring classic Raleigh bikes and salt-water fly fishing. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts’ School of Economics.
David is responsible for Davies’ retail outlet and outside sales department. Over the course of his more than 25 years at Davies, David has increased our outlet sales and has built a strong outlet team known for efficiency, knowledge and excellent customer service. When you see David in action, it’s clear that he genuinely enjoys helping our outlet customers solve their design and office layout challenges. David also genuinely enjoys traveling – by boat, by land and by motorcycle. He’s not only traveled the U.S., he has also set sail for exotic locales that include the Mediterranean, Australia and Central America. David is a SUNY Oneonta graduate with dual degrees in business economics and political science.
Heather is Davies’ jack of all trades, although that’s not her official title. As senior manager and co-leader of a team of 10 designers, Heather helps our clients use their existing furniture assets to achieve their office design goals. She is also an expert at incorporating re-manufactured and recycled products into office design. In addition, Heather manages the daily activities of our inside sales, design, dealer sales and auditing departments. But her contributions go far beyond our organization; Heather is an ardent supporter of community organizations – from the Greene County YMCA to the Police Athletic League. She also enjoys cooking and gardening. Heather is a graduate of Sage College of Albany.
In her role as design department and special projects manager, Joan supervises the Davies design team and CAD support staff. Her creativity helps ensure that no two projects are the same – keeping our office solutions fresh and inspired while incorporating remanufactured furniture into designs on par with the latest trends. But Joan’s creativity doesn’t end when she leaves Davies. Joan runs a home-based pottery studio and local storefront, where she creates beautiful hand-crafted ceramic kitchen and dinnerware. It’s safe to say that Joan has a lot on her plate. Joan earned her BFA in environmental design from Northern Michigan University.
Nicole is one of the best in the business when it comes to design and space planning. She works with our clients from project kick off to final handshake and has earned a reputation among clients and colleagues alike for being detailed and responsive. Nicole is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), which means that her interior designs are as functional and safe as they are beautiful. On her off hours, Nicole enjoys spending time with her children and indulging in the three R’s: reading, running and relaxing with friends. She holds a degree in design and environmental analysis from Cornell University.
There’s no denying that Parker Beach has a great name, although if he had it his way, it would be preceded by “the Myth, the Man, the Legend.” Seriously. But there’s no question that Parker’s done some pretty amazing work at Davies. As special project coordinator, Parker is responsible for the company’s custom projects, and he consistently finds sustainable, environmentally friendly office solutions to our clients’ toughest challenges. In fact, his favorite color is green. Coincidence? We think not. Parker earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Hartford.
