Sheehan for recognizing the importance of remanufacturing as it promotes a positive environmental and economic impact. Governor Cuomo and Mayor Sheehan are both in full support of celebrating this day to educate and encourage businesses, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, schools and individuals to adopt a greener way of life and incorporate sustainability practices into their lives. Remanufacturing has already been recognized by leading universities, research institutions and manufacturers in the US to prevent products ending up in landfills, decreased greenhouse gas emissions, and protected the ground-water from potential toxic contaminants.
